Ready to try the potter's wheel? This 2-hour class is an introduction for beginners.
Join Sven of Sven Ceramics for hands-on wheel throwing. You'll learn the essential first steps: centering clay and pulling up simple cylindrical forms. Sven will guide you, offering individual tips as you work.
You'll gain a basic understanding of wheel throwing and create your first pieces.
What to Expect:
- Introductions & Demo: A quick overview and demonstration from Sven.
- Wheel Time: Hands-on practice with Sven providing individual help.
- Finished Pieces: There will not be enough time to finish your pieces in this class, but we will trim, glaze and fire up to 2 items for you to pick up later (Unless 'No Finished Work' class is selected. In that option, you wouldn't keep your work after the class, and so the class is discounted accordingly.)

- Duration: 2 hours
- Materials: All materials, tools, glazing, and firing costs are included. You can bring your own tools if you have them.
- What to Bring: Clothes you don't mind getting messy.
- Location: Sven Ceramics Studio, 1070 Maryland Street, San Francisco CA 94107.
- Pick-up: Your finished pieces will be ready for pick-up in 2-6 weeks.
- Cancellation: Cancellations made up to one week before the class are eligible for a full refund; cancellations after that period will receive a 50% refund.
